GREEN JUMPER LIVE EVENTS
Thanks to everyone who has supported our live Green Jumper events. The tour in 2024 has supported various charities as well as visiting three book festivals.
At Derby Book Festival, around 50 people attended the special Q&A with Cloughie author Marcus Alton in conversation with former BBC sports reporter Colin Gibson. The multi-media event was held in the Sir John Hurt Cinema at Derby Quad as part of the festival's autumn season (November 2024).
The event in Derby was the third book festival this year to feature Marcus' latest book, 'Brian Clough The Lost Tapes.' There were also popular Q&A events at Newark and Lowdham book festivals during 2024.
In addition to the book festivals, Marcus took part in a number of live Green Jumper events raising money for various good causes, including the Friary homelessness charity, Maggie's Cancer Centre in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Hospice.
Around 100 people came along to a great night of nostalgia, marking 20 years since Brian Clough left us with amazing memories. The event on 20th September 2024 at the Lutterell Hall in West Bridgford, Nottingham, raised money for the homelessness charity, the Friary - the type of good cause Cloughie supported.
Best-selling Cloughie author Marcus Alton took part in an entertaining Q&A compered by Neil Kendrick. The event included an auction of memorabilia (with a shirt donated by Nottingham Forest, signed by the first team squad, plus items signed by Cloughie legends) and there was a special message from Brian's son, Simon.
The event raised more than £1,000 for the Friary.
At all Green Jumper events Marcus Alton has been signing copies of his latest book 'Brian Clough The Lost Tapes'
which is supporting the NSPCC and Nottinghamshire Hospice.
Audience feedback:

"It was really entertaining, thank you. I hope you do more of these."
"Excellent evening for a good cause."

There was a sell-out audience at Lowdham Book Festival in June 2024. Thanks for all the lovely comments afterwards!
Another successful event was held at Newark Book Festival in July 2024. The audience travelled from across the local region to hear fascinating Cloughie stories and exclusive audio, and see archive pictures and footage. Best-selling author Marcus Alton presented a one-man multi-media show and signed copies of The Lost Tapes.
The event was held in the impressive setting of the Tudor Hall in the National Civil War Centre - the same venue Marcus visited to talk about a previous book in 2024. Audience members queued-up to buy signed copies afterwards. Thanks very much for your continued support!
The Story....
As you can see, the Green Jumper pod has been on tour in 2024. The first of a series of special events was held on Friday, 8th March 2024 in Nottingham. The events include memories and tributes featuring Cloughie author Marcus Alton who interviewed Brian several times.
During the tour, Marcus is talking about his latest book 'Brian Clough The Lost Tapes' and recalling great stories. There's also the opportunity to purchase signed copies of his books, which are supporting good causes.
The first event was supporting the St George's Centre in the Netherfield area, with nearly £1,000 raised. Another event at Ramsdale Park Golf Centre supported Maggie's Cancer Centre in Nottingham and raised more than £400.
Marcus was in conversation with event host Neil Kendrick and the evening included an entertaining audience Q&A.
Previously, Marcus presented a cheque for £7,500 to the children's cancer ward at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre on behalf of the Brian Clough Memorial Fund.
