Top Pundit

AS A TV PUNDIT - HE WAS IN THE TOP ONE

It's confirmed something we knew all along - Cloughie was the top television pundit of all time. The Miracle Manager tops a list of football pundits published by our friends at Four Four Two.

"If you were in the studio (or sitting in front of your TV) when the two-time European Cup-winning boss spoke, you listened - and you'd have been a brave person to tell 'Old Big 'Ead' he was ever wrong."

That's the verdict of writer Tom Hancock who has compiled the list of all-time great football pundits. You can read the full list here.

Not surprisingly, in second place is Cloughie's former midfielder Roy Keane. Hancock says that Keane, "took no prisoners on the pitch, and he doesn't take any in the TV studio either..."

Another former Cloughie player, Martin O'Neill, takes the No.18 spot, while Brian's pal Jimmy Greaves is at No.4.

Here's a reminder of his classic interview with John Motson when he could have been doing himself out of a punditry job:

"I suggest you shut up and show more football!"
